Arunesh Karkun

Arunesh Karkun is a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi. As part of the CPR ICEE, Arunesh is working in the area of air quality. His research interests also include clean transportation and climate change.


Previously, he has been Research Analyst at the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) where he worked on issues pertaining to electric mobility. Key projects included developing a planning tool for deploying electric buses in Indian cities, and assessing novel charging and operational solutions for potentially deploying electric buses in Bengaluru. He received his M.Sc. in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, and his B.Sc. (H) in Physics from the University of Delhi.
